If you are a new or current IU Columbus student who has not previously applied for Accessible Educational Services (AES), please follow these instructions for obtaining accommodations.
Contact the AES office to schedule an intake appointment. You can send an email to iucaes@iu.edu or call (812) 375-7528.
During this intake appointment, provide AES with documentation of your diagnosis and AES will ask questions and gain satisfactory information to create a case file for you.
Once all of your documentation is received, we will talk over accommodations and the office will determine what appropriate accommodations can be provided to each student.
When complete, you will receive an email from Accommodate, our software system that manages accommodations for IU Columbus students. This will list your approved accommodations and provide you with next steps.
You must continue to check your IU email account for updates and additional steps from IU Columbus AES office staff.
You will receive a final Letter of Accommodation after completing your steps. This letter is to be forwarded to all of your instructors. In order for your accommodations to be fully in place, you must also carbon-copy (CC) iucaes@iu.edu.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, containing policy statements, crime and fire statistics for all Indiana University campuses, is available online. You may also request a physical copy by emailing IU Public Safety at iups@iu.edu or by visiting IUPD.
