Understanding your financial aid options
You have many options when it comes to finding financial aid to pay for college. Before you borrow money, make sure you understand the types of aid that are available.
The 2026-2027 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now live!
The 2025-26 FAFSA is still available until June 30th, 2026.
April 15th is the priority deadline to file the FAFSA for aid at IU Columbus and for aid from the state of Indiana.
- Now: The FAFSA is available for students and families to complete. When you file your FAFSA please add our school code, E01033.
- Indiana University will receive FAFSA data from the Federal government.
- IU Columbus will send out Financial Aid Notifications to first-year students through the US Postal Service and email in early spring.
