The Columbus Care Team seeks to provide appropriate, timely support for students, faculty, and staff with the goal of minimizing any disruption to an individual’s role on campus from reports of concerning behavior. Early communication and intervention with appropriate resources can prevent concerning behaviors from reaching a point of critical escalation while improving the quality of life for everyone on our campus.
The Care Team considers reports from a restorative perspective, seeking to understand the entirety of an individual’s situation before making referrals to mental health, financial, or academic resources that can provide the individual with appropriate support before any concerning behaviors escalate to a point of warranting sanctions. The CARE Team does not enact sanctions or administer policy regarding referrals. However, the CARE Team can coordinate and share information with units that may take those actions.
