When your appointment time comes, you will need to log into Stellic to register for classes.
Before you register, make sure you’re prepared. Follow the steps below.
Learn how to register for classes
- Check your registration date and time.
- Check for holds on your registration and obtain a release for each hold (you won’t be able to register until you’ve done this step).
- Review and update your addresses.
- Review course availability.
- Review online course descriptions.
- Review course material for the courses you’re interested in.
Use Stellic to plan your schedule. If you need more information about how to use stellic, visit stellic.iu.edu.
- Follow the advising procedure established by your academic division.
- If you have questions about any of the classes you want to take, ask the instructors.
Look at the final exam schedule to make sure you won’t have any conflicts.

After you register
After you’ve registered, you’ll be able to drop or add classes through the first week of classes. After the first week of classes, you’ll need to go through the late drop/add process instead.
